These are two of the most spoken sayings that people use to describe something when things are bad, really, bad. Our generation has not seen things so chaotic in almost every area that you can think of. There are problems that occur one or two at a time on a lesser scale, but in the past few years Americans and others across the globe are experiencing situations that we do not know exactly how to handle and some that are simply inescapable.
When it comes to circumstances that we can not do a thing about, it would have to the weather and other natural disasters that seem to be happening at random in some places that we have hardly ever even heard of. Earthquakes in China, Japan, America, and other countries have caused chaos, death, and destruction to entire towns. Then there are volcanoes that might not have erupted yet, but are being closely watched because of past destruction and new facts that scientists have discovered about areas like the Northwestern United States just for one.
Hurricanes, tsunamis, and cyclones are running rampant the past few years as well. Even though these weather formations are relatively familiar here and there, in recent years they seem to be occurring more frequently and stronger than ever. Our ability to track and predict the strength of these storms does nothing for our ability to be able to keep them from happening, but at least we get enough advance warning to be able to evacuate where they are going to hit. It does not in any way minimize the loss of property and the destruction economically that they can leave behind.
Another serious matter that has not been seen on this scale is our current economic situation. It is not only in the United States and it is not just a passing down turn in the economy, it is a global collapse in the banking world that affects so much of our lives. People have debts that are spiraling out of control and we have a government in place that evidently does not know how to fix the problem. It seems that our individual rights are slowly being eroded in the face of these many situations and what are we doing about that?
It appears that so many things are changing all over the world and what does this mean for us? Are there things we can do to step up and change them? Is our world heading in a direction that many of us find that we might not want to go? We can not really do much about the weather or natural disasters, but we need to take a closer look at the direction our government and those around the planet are headed and make sure we put in our two cents worth before we end up in a place we might not want to be.

Do you have a laptop computer that you do not think you can survive without? When you use of the marvels of technology to keep track of your entire life, it can be just a little devastating when something happens to it. If you use it for work, you could be at a dead stand still when all of your important files and contacts are simply gone. You have to protect this valuable piece of equipment at all costs.
There are a wide variety of thing that can happen to a laptop and sometimes they happen so quickly you might not have time to react other than panic. When you are riding on some kind of public transportation, you could accidentally leave it behind. You can leave it in your car and leave it unlocked and it gets stolen. Chances are you will never get it back from one of these incidents. You might have insurance that will cover you for this and that it is good thing to have.
Another common occurrence that can ruin your relationship with your beloved laptop is if you let something get spilled on it. This happens more often than you might think. Placing a cup of coffee or even a glass of water a little too close and it is laptop destruction waiting to happen. It is a good practice to never keep any kind of liquid near your laptop no matter how tempting it might be when you are using it. If you do, you definitely need to make sure it can not be spilled directly on the keyboard or screen.
If you are so unfortunate as to allow something to be spilled on your laptop, the first thing you should do it turn it off immediately. If it is plugged in to the wall, unplug it carefully. Turn the unit upside down and let as much of the liquid run straight out of it as possible. Now some people say that you should remove the cover or back and allow the unit to completely dry out and if you spilled water on the laptop, allowing it to dry out completely before trying to turn it back on does work sometimes.
If you spilled another liquid like soda or coffee into your laptop, it is always wise to take it to a professional repair shop instead of trying anything on your own. They might be able to clean it well enough to get it working again, but they will usually not guarantee that they can as it might depend on the extent of the damage done. This is why it is always important to keep important files and any other valuable information on your computer backed up to a disc. This way you might have to replace your computer, but at least you will still have your information.

Sometimes we can be just a little careless with our wardrobe. When we come in tired after work and have had a long day, the last thing we want to do is worry about hanging up clothes or finding the dirty clothes hamper. Every once in a while we might leave them on the bathroom floor or throw them in the laundry room and not pay attention for a few days where they landed. Being messy sometimes is just a side effect of working too hard and long or just being too busy.
When we go back a while later, we might find that there has been a visitor to our favorite shirt or slacks and it looks like it might be moved in to stay. Of course, we are talking about mold or mildew stains. Mold or mildew can also get on clothing or even fabric upholstered furniture we might have stored in the basement or attic. Usually you think these clothes or furniture are just ruined and think they are ready for the trash.
That is not always the case. You might not be able to always remove mold or mildew, but there are a few things you can at least try before you throw the item away or have furniture reupholstered. First of all, you need to clean the item outside if at all possible because you do not want to be spreading mold spores into the air inside the home.
Try using a gentle brush to loosen the mold. Wear a mask so you do not breathe in any flying particles. Brush off as much of the mold as possible and then use a solution of half water and half peroxide to soak the stain over night. Keep it wet for the whole time. This might help remove all or at least some of the stain.
Using a color safe bleach to wash some garments might work good enough to remove a stain of mold or mildew if it is not too deep in the fabric. You may also try using lemon juice or vinegar. You might as well try all of these ingredients to get the mold and mildew out or you will end up throwing it away. You can always choose to take it to the cleaners and let them give it a try, but it is usually better to do this before you try any home remedies of your own. A cleaner may not be able to guarantee to get the mold or mildew out wither, but at least it is worth a try.
